Thank you for Coming!

Hello! It was spectacular to see everyone who came to our Barn Sale and Show this past weekend! We enjoyed meeting some new friends and seeing the faces of old and dear ones.  The weather was beautiful until the front came through on Saturday night and the temps dropped a good 20 degrees. That kept us all on our toes on Sunday as we were dodging the rain drops. Even though this weather change put a damper on things it did enable us to take time to have some great conversations and learn a little more about the people who were braving the elements to check us out. 

We also got to meet Meredith, from Hives for Lives, who was an impressive young woman who helped us to learn more about their organization. They are working hard to help fund an END to cancer. Huge admiration is sent their way as well as to the many new friends and supporters that they made at the show.

A huge thank you and kudos to my friends who helped me make this second sale a reality! To you all... Thanks for coming and stay tuned for our next scheduled sale the weekend of June 2nd.  Preview photos to follow soon!

Burning the Midnight Oil - Getting Ready!

Don't you just love this shot taken by my friend Chris as she left the barn last night? Yesterday was April 11th...my Birthday. My husband unfortunately had to be out of town and our one daughter just went back to college the day before from spending Easter here at home. That left me and our 3 boys...  our oldest son is away spending Spring Break with his cousin and my parents in North Carolina...to celebrate. Let's just suffice it to say that the celebration was very quiet. Our 16 year old son never made it out of bed and slept until 3 am THIS morning (he is the one battling an obscure syndrome) so that left our 13 and 10 year old boys to carry the torch. That torch was not burning that brightly after the Math tutoring run, the late pickup from a Lax game and a stop to pick up pizza brought us home nearing 7:45. I was meeting 2 friends in the barn to make, create, and unpack and price shipments. Wouldn't you know it that each showed up with a CAKE!! They knew the scenario and felt that everyone should at least have a cake for their BD! We ended up saving the ice cream cake so that tonight we can do candles when some of my family will be home. We might as well have wiped the other peanut butter and chocolate dreamy concoction on our thighs for it was incredibly rich, delicious and decadent for we ate way too much. (Who doesn't need a cake break of that kind at midnight?) If that one friend was not already making a living as an artist she should be making it baking wonderful desserts.

My world is certainly enriched by friends like these! Thank you to all of my friends and family, near and far who gave me a shout out full of BD wishes. I hope that your world is enriched by friends such as these! (as well as family members who send flowers along with those BD wishes)

I will return later with progress on how burning that midnight oil is coming along!

Summer Fun Decor

I know that Summer is a bit away yet, but some of the merchandise that I have been unpacking and setting up makes me think of those warm lazy days and cookouts in the waning light as the fireflies begin their dance. Spring has just sprung and I am already jumping the gun to the next season! These products that we found at the Atlanta show make me want to do just that so I am going to share two of my favorites with you.

Cake Vintage unveiled their new product line and we love these crab placemat pads that are made out of 100% recycled Kraft paper. They come in a tear off pad of 50. Can't you just see them at a crab picking instead of newspaper? We will have these and other styles at the sale later this month.

Cheese or dessert papers that are food safe and water resistant...no soggy paper here!

Wouldn't it be great to use this large tray to hold the crabs and the large bowl to hold the shells as you are picking out the crab meat over the Kraft paper placemats? They are from a beautiful line of Enamelware that we also found at the Atlanta show. They can go from stove to tabletop and they are dishwasher safe. We also have a lobster pattern for those Maine Lobster lovers!
